Although it’s not officially winter yet, it seems like the weather this time of year often comes with power outages. As much as this can be an inconvenience in our day and age of life in the fast lane, sometimes I welcome a bit of a slow down.
If we lose electricity, I look forward to life without our myriad of devices, and most importantly, life by candlelight. The Old Masters used candles and candlelight as a main component of many paintings, and I agree it brings a lovely romantic mood to an evening. Even on normal days when we have power, we try to have our family dinner by candlelight as often as possible.
If you’re looking for ways to settle into your holiday spirit this year, embrace the simplicity of candlelight. Slow things down, feel the glow, and enjoy!
