When I think of choosing artwork to hang in my house, I typically imagine landscapes or abstract figures, but words aren’t a subject matter I typically consider. However, I’ve recently opened my eyes to artwork made up of words or phrases. Since I love typography and graphic design, I find myself loving fun pieces with beautifully written words of wisdom. If I love them so much, why wouldn’t I decorate my home that way?
One piece that mixes and matches both words and pattern is Roundabout, by Hal Mayforth on Zatista. This piece is available for $3,050.
Another piece that has a unique, lyrical touch is I Am Woman, by Sharis DeJaynes on Zatista. This mixed media piece is available for $135.
Since art can be playful, what better way to play than with words? SPIT, a mixed media piece by Lisa Bolin on Zatista, is available for $478. This piece would make me smile and remind me to think before I speak!
I find artworks with text very intriguing. Not only are you appreciating at the medium and the execution, you’re also thinking about the content. This genre of art can add a nice layer of depth to a collection filled with other subject matter such as landscapes, figures, florals, etc. Broaden your horizons and your art collection with a few letters today!
