Artist Statement:
I was born in 1975 in Portugal.
From an early age my taste for art grew with me. I started the taste for drawing at an early age and at 15 my parents bought my first painting material.
At the age of 16 I decided to learn to paint having reheated an atelier of painting classes.
Although I have opted for a degree in Accounting, art, creativity and painting are part of my nature and what I really enjoy doing.
Over the years I attended classes and art workshops in Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto, never ceasing to paint.
Starting in 2016, I decided to embrace painting in a fuller way, and since that time I have participated in a series of national collective exhibitions.
I enjoy working with various techniques (acrylic, oil, charcoal, pastel, spray paint), and my work always has textures, colors, brush strokes, layers and layers. I like to add improbable elements that make my work stronger, more expressive and honest.
My work always carries a message of what I believe, values, principles, memories, thoughts, inspirations of travel, moments and states of mind.
The "Return to the Essence" series of works is a very important series for me because it represents the symbolism of memories, of returning to the essence and of my discovery as an artist, the elements and symbology that is representative of my message.
