Artist Statement:
Christine Lindstrom’s work explores the mysteries and magic of girlhood, as well as the connections between humans, nature, and the collective unconscious, as they all relate to femininity and gender. Visits to imaginary places, dreams and memories haunt her work. Her influences include Japanese ink paintings and Dutch paintings of the 17th century.
Christine has also designed a line of commercial prints, jewelry, stationery and home accessories, that goes by the name, Mai Autumn. She previously curated the critically acclaimed handmade collective, Fey Handmade. Her work has received praise from Lucky Magazine, Real Simple, Southern Living, Dwell Magazine, Apartment Therapy and many other prominent publications and websites.
Christine was raised in central New Jersey and enjoys cooking, gardening and reading many, many books. She received her BA in painting in 2008 and is currently living in Asbury Park, NJ.
