Artist Statement
My paintings are inspired by Contemporary Realism, influenced by classical realism and hyperrealism. The predominant technique in the elaboration of my artworks is the oil painting on canvas, being the genre that I practice most frequently the still life, for its infinite compositional and pictorial possibilities. As for my paintings, it is common for me to use elements that go unnoticed such as: marbles, Kraft paper, glass cups, and Rubik cubes, seemingly insignificant pieces of wood or metal, but chromatically interesting and with organic or industrial textures, which represent a challenge to be represented accurately for any painter. Currently my work focuses on the main elements of the composition, accompanied by neutral backgrounds, with the aim of the viewer fixing his eyes on these pieces. My goal, like that of every painter of the realistic genre, is to continue on the long road of technical perfection, this is certainly a utopian goal and it may sound like something very pretentious, but, constantly improving is my greatest motivation.
Biography
Carlos Bruscianelli is a Realist painter born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1980. Since 2000, he began studies in Civil Engineering at the Central University of Venezuela, but his artistic interest induces him to take classes in realistic painting at the Museo Tessari - Rizzo, where he specializes in the techniques of oil painting on canvas and soft pastel. Finally, Carlos Bruscianelli suspended his engineering studies dedicating himself completely to his artistic production.
At the Tessari - Rizzo Museum he began his training as an artist in 2004 and culminates in 2011, during that period, he participates in the annual Salon in multiple opportunities, obtaining two honorable mentions. Simultaneously he participated in the annual hall of Faber Castell, being finalist in four consecutive opportunities and obtaining two honorable mentions, also in the "Salon Juan Lovera" he manages to be finalist in 2012.
In 2008, for the first time, he exhibited his work at the prestigious Dimaca Gallery, then at the renowned LPG Gallery in his hometown. Starting in 2014 he began the process of internationalization of his work, specifically in the cities of Miami and New York, where he has achieved his greatest acceptance. In 2015, he participates in Art Revolution Taipei, representing Venezuela and in 2016 he is a finalist in the Still Life category of the prestigious Salon organized by the Art Renewal Center (ARC), one of the most important realist painting show of the present time. This same year he decides to leave his native country, product of the political and economic instability and to reside in Miami Beach, where now he produces his artistic work.
