Both fashionistas and outdoor enthusiasts alike know how important it is to layer. Interior designers also use this technique to add drama to a room. When it comes to dressing walls, I like to layer too.
Many of us paint our interior walls with inspiring colors and then hang our artwork, but have you taken advantage of the often overlooked layer in between your wall and your framed art? One way to do this is with vinyl wall stickers.
Sounds like something you try to keep your toddler from doing, but this is one kind of sticker that even adults will approve of, and for good reason.
Increase the presence of art in your home by adding a layer of interest, color or texture to a room with a decal. Though tempting, don’t succumb to throwing them onto the walls haphazardly; although they are removable, decals still need to be used thoughtfully. With a little consideration, giving the eye another element to take in can enhance the artwork you already have.
Wall stickers are inexpensive and simple to use. They can stick to tile,
windows,
and are easily incorporated into kids’ rooms.
They can change with the seasons,
act as furniture,
and can bring humor,
whimsy,
and utility to your living space.
Great ideas, I love them all. Where do you find these vinyl stickers? Paint store, hobby place??
They are all over the internet (search vinyl wall stickers or wall decals) and I saw some at Target last week. Meanwhile, if you see something you like in this post, the images are linked to the on-line seller so just click and go. I’m sure others have lots of good resources as well. Good luck!
I make these if anyone is interested. Custom only – no stock or on-the-shelf items. You or I supply the design and we deliver finished vinyl ready to apply or we can install. Located in Portland, Maine.
